Clemson Tigers Take on Purdue

Tuesday night, Oliver Purnell leads the Tigers against the Purdue Boilermakers. Right now, Purdue is 3-0, but hasn't really played a team of any consequence. Their toughest bout was a 66-62W against the 1-5 Lipscomb Bison(s) of the Atlantic Sun Conference.

The Tigers last played Purdue 12/3/2003, a game the Tigers lost 76-64 in West Lafayette, IN. This year will hopefully be different. Purdue is no longer lead by the anti-ACC/Big Ten challenge-comb-over master Gene Keady and has stocked up on young talent. The Tigers, on the other hand are still guided by on court guru-OP, and only lost Vernon Hamilton. And while his ball-handling skills and his certain porn-'stache might be missed in this year's Big Ten/ACC Challenge, the Tigers now have Demontez Stitt, a young freshman ready to step up, and Uncle Cliff Hammonds leading the point, with TO, Terrence Oglesby bringing up the two guard position.

With our strong inside game and consistent guard play, we should be able to win the game. However, the Tigers must be wary, as they now have 5/17th of their win-streak total from last year and don't want to stumble early. This could be a big showcase for the Tigers, as the game is on ESPN2 and you can Gametrack it. I will be watching and listening on WCCP-fm- online.

Go Tigers!
