The OP Stat(s) of the Game: KC Rivers- 18pts; Tigers FT%- 17-23, 73.9%
The Tigers escaped with a win tonight in Charleston. Booker was offensively held in check with 8 points, but was a beast elsewhere with 12 rebounds and 7 blocked shots.
TCU out rebounded the Tigers on both the offensive and defensive boards. This is going to be a concern as the season progresses. Booker did his part, but the rest of the team is going to have to step up on the glass, in the paint, and on the defensive wings. TCU was able to stay close because they hit their shots. However, we were allowing them to have those shots in the first place.
It looked like an early season game as the Tigers struggled at times to stay in rhythm and committed 20 turnovers.
Oglesby, again, seemed to be in stride and finished the game with 14 points. Two of last night's stars, Raymond Sykes and Tanner Smith, were notably absent from tonight's game. Sykes finished with 4 pts in 26 minutes and Smith with 0 pts. in 13 minutes, though he had three steals.
The Tigers will now match up against the Temple Owls, the other 2008 NCAA tournament team, at 4:00 pm Sunday Afternoon.
