Clemson Tiger Basketball: Back in Action

Today at 4pm ET, the Tigers take on the Samford Bulldogs in a return to play for the first time since their close loss to Ole Miss. In that time, the Tiger Freshman Terrence Oglesby was named ACC Rookie of the Week, James Mays returned to action for 16 minutes, Sam Perry returned, and the Christmas holiday occurred.

Today's game marks only the third time Clemson and Samford have met. They are coming off a buzzer-beating win against Murray State. Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama, hails from the Ohio Valley Conference. Samford is most widely known for establishing and perpetuating Florida State football, as both Bobby Bowden and Jimbo Fisher graduated Samford.

As for the Ohio Valley Conference, you many recognize one of the following teams, which many times represent the OVC in the NCAA tournament: Austin Peay, my favorite, SE Missouri St., Eastern Kentucky, Murray State, and some other schools.

Hopefully, James Mays has a better game today. Look for Cliff Hamilton to tie or break Will Solomon assist record to become 2nd on the Clemson all-time list, behind T-Mac.
