During this yule-time holiday at the OP HQ, the Tigers have posted two decisive wins against lesser, but dangerous teams.
The 94-55 victory over Charleston featured what OP said was a battle for playing time, as Noel Johnson started in both that game and the WCU game. Donte Hill was the standout freshman of the game with 11 points. Newly anointed starter Noel had 7 points in 17 minutes of action. Milton again demonstrated that the game is starting to come to him, as he was efficient scoring 8 points in 15 minutes. Here's the full box score from ESPN.
The Western Carolina 79-57 win was all about Booker, Trevor with 31 and Devin with 10. Milton chipped in with even more efficient minutes scoring 7 pts in 12 minutes. The Tigers worked the ball inside consistently and effectively, though even guards Stitt and Smith scored in double-digits, 10 and 13 respectively.
Next up is Christmas, then back to work against what could be a dangerous trap against SC State. This is one last tune-up before the ACC season starts in earnest with Clemson taking on Duke in Durham. Hopefully the Tigers aren't looking past the Bulldogs toward the Blue Devils.
Go Tigers!
