The Tigers and Booker established the inside game early and continued it throughout. Booker, mohawk still visible, was helped by Sykes with 10 pts. It shouldn't be a surprise given his performance this year; however, after three years of Sykes looking confused and out-of-place of on offense, that fact he is becoming a solid inside presence this year, still surprises.

Per Bobo, he still hasn't had much playing time, as he only played 4 minutes yesterday. In was became OP's 101st win.

The Blue Hose almost came up with an answer to the Tigers inside/outside game, at the end of the first half when they pulled to 36-32. That is as close as the Blue Hose came. Booker turned it on and the defense turned it up. It wasn't a great game in terms of style points, but it was enough.

“We didn’t play great, but we played well in spurts,” Purnell said. “And we were able to put a lot of pressure on them with our size advantage.”

Clemson defeats Savannah State 81-49 in Littlejohn

The OP Stat of the Game: Oliver Purnell, 100 Clemson Victories!!!

Booker and Oglesby lead the Clemson Tigers in scoring at 17 a piece, followed by surprise offensive force Raymond Sykes with 14. Grant and Stitt each scored 8, while, KC Rivers had a notably of night with only 6. points. Nonetheless, the Tigers won- the correct ones.

Still, 61.9 FT % on 13 of 21. Savannah State, on the other hand, shot 71.43% on 5-7 FT. Based upon percentages alone, we lost this match up. However, the Clemson Tigers were able to get to the FT line three times as much as the SS Tigers. Of the attempts at the line, 10 were by Booker, who made 7 of the 10. Sykes, Oglesby, Grant, Stitt, and Yanutola all missed one. This changes the perception of the FT% at least a little.

Elsewher, Bobo made his 'electric' debut with 4 points from two dunks, but also had two blocks, two rebounds, and one turnover in his 9 minutes of NCAA collegiate action- in which Catalin Baicu nearly doubled the amount of time he played 'professionally' in his native Romania. Don't trust Willy with your money next time Bobo, and you probably won't have to sit out five games.

Per the Oglesby front, he returned to form nicely and shot 66.7% from 3pt. range on 4-6 shooting and 17 total points.

The Tigers needed this breather after the close game in Charlotte. And while we didn't perform consistently throughout, in the end, the Tigers followed through and defeated the younger, less-talented Savannah State Tigers, whose only bright spot was Anthony Jones' 20 points.

Now, the Clemson Tigers have to look forward to the Blue Hose of PC Friday night @ 7:30. So when you're fat with Turkey and looking forward to a Saturday meal of chicken, you can relax and enjoy another Tiger Basketball game. OP will start working toward his 2nd hundred in the win Clemson win column then.

Clemson Tigers look to dominate the Blue Hose

I wanted to use a verb somehow connected to the fact PC's mascot is a Blue Hose, but it would have probably been a bit suggestive. So, I refrained.

Onward, tonight at 7:30pm, EST, Littlejohn, Clemson, SC, the Tigers look to start 5-0.
(Gametrack it if you like.)They will be taking on a PC team they have historically owned, 50-17-2. PC looks like they are a team that spreads the scoring around, as they only have one player who averages in double-digits, guard Pat Kiscaden.

If the Tigers continue to tighten up on defense, the offense should follow. We are out-rebounding our opponents and playing with a huge chip on our shoulders. Everyone in the local and national media knows about our 17-0 collapse last year. We are on the radar now. However, not until we beat a few solid teams are we going to be taken seriously.

Even then, many people will not give us credit until the ACC-Season begins. All of which is fine. We should have to prove ourselves. We should and hopefully will earn every accolade possible this year. We are a strong team and OP has us mentally prepared. Hopefully, this preparation doesn't involve looking past PC to #22 Kentucky Killer, Gardner-Webb.

We should beat PC and then G-W. I think worrying about G-W more than we should is not necessarily warranted.
